The Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation seeks to increase student interest and involvement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by engaging students in hands-on, sustainable and affordable curriculum-based robotics engineering programs.
The REC Foundation seeks to partner with universities and colleges to offer a scholarship program that will encourage students in our programs to continue their education and pursue careers in STEM.

The Ohio State University at Marion is offering multiple scholarships at $2,400 renewable up to a total of $11,200 to high school seniors and college students. Scholarships are based on either financial need or academic merit. Academic merit scholarships require a minimum 3.0+ GPA. Applicants must be residents of the State of Ohio and attending the University full time. Applicants may be enrolled in any STEM field and must submit an essay to apply. The Florida Institute of Technology is offering ten scholarships at $13,500 per year, renewable for four years. The scholarships require that students are admitted to the Florida Institute of Technology. Candidates must be members of a VEX robotics team during their senior year in high school. Proof of affiliation at the time of admission is a requirement.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will provide 10 scholarship of $10,000 renewable up to 4 years to students who participate in the VRC. Students may pursue any field of academic study. The scholarship is open to US as well as international students. Applications should be submitted by students in their Junior year of high school. Applicants will also be required to submit a letter of recommendation from a team adult mentor/coach and a personal essay.

The Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Denver offers multiple scholarships to admitted students totaling $250,000. Scholarships range in value and are based on either financial need or academic merit. Applicants must be enrolled in an engineering or computer science field to qualify.

The REC Foundation is proud to partner with The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) in support of robotics programs for students in the United States. NSBE provides 47 scholarships totaling over $250,000 annually. Students must be members of NSBE to be eligible for the scholarships. Applications are now being accepted for the 14th annual Northrop Grumman Corporation Engineering Scholars competition, which will provide $240,000 in college scholarships across Maryland to promising high-school seniors interested in studying engineering.
Individual scholarships of $10,000, payable in $2,500 installments over four years, will be awarded to a qualified graduating high school senior in each of Maryland’s 23 counties and Baltimore City. Kettering University will provide up to 10 scholarships with a value up to $5,000 renewable up to 4.5 years to students who participate in the VRC program. Students must be full time and may pursue any field of academic study.
The scholarship is open to US citizens. Applicants do not have to be residents of the State of Michigan to apply. Applications should be submitted by students in their Senior year of high school. Two letters of recommendation are required. One of the letters of recommendation must be from a team adult mentor/coach. Applicants must also submit a personal essay.

Up to five scholarships will be presented at the Indianapolis VRC competition to the winners of the Excellence Award. Each Scholarship is valued at $10,000 for four years. Students must apply and be accepted to The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. This Scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors. Early action admission is required.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will award a merit scholarship in the amount of up to $5,000, per year of attendance (up to $25,000), to high school seniors who are active members of a VEX team at any high school in the country or its territories. As part of the partnership between the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation and the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), WPI has established scholarships for VEX Robotics participants. Each year WPI will award a grand prize scholarship of $80,000 ($20,000 per year, for four years) and two runner-up scholarships of $10,000 ($2,500 per year, for four years).

Ronald McDonald House Charities provides numerous scholarships ranging in value from $1,000 to $100,000. Applicants must have senior level standing in high school with a minimum 2.76 GPA. Scholarships will be given for both financial need and academic merit to full time students planning to attend accredited post-secondary institutions, vocational or technical schools. These scholarships are open to US citizens and permanent residents.
Applicants are required to submit a team Mentor/Coach letter of recommendation as well as a personal essay.

The Arizona State University offers up to six scholarships of $3,000 per year, renewable for up to 5 years to full time ASU students who are studying the fields of Engineering, Computer Science and Construction. Applicants must be admitted as an undergraduate student to ASU’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering for the upcoming academic year and have been a participant in at least one full season of a regional or national science, math or engineering competition within the past two years.

Wheaton College will provide 1 scholarship of $20,000 per year renewable up to 4 years to students who participate in the VRC program. Students may pursue any field of academic study. The scholarship is open to US as well as international students. Applications should be submitted by students in their Junior or Senior year of high school. Applicants must apply to Wheaton College and be accepted to Wheaton college to be eligible. The successful applicant must maintain a 3.0 GPA while at Wheaton College. The scholarship will be integrated with need based eligibility by Wheaton college.

Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology is pleased to present three scholarships at $5,000 per year renewable for 4 years up to $20,000 to students who have participated in the VEX Robotics Program. Applicants must be in their senior year of high school and planning to study Engineering or Engineering Technology at Vaughn College. A recommendation from a team adult mentor/coach is required.

The University of Advancing Technology is providing scholarships to senior level students who are currently on VRC teams. Both scholarships have minimum GPA requirements. The The University of Advancing Technology Robotics Scholarship is $1,250 per semester renewable up to $10,000. The The University of Advancing Technology Murphy Robotics Scholarship is $5,000 per semester renewable up to $40,000.

Harvey Mudd college offers one scholarship for $10,000 renewable up to 4 years. Students may pursue any course of study. Candidates must have competed on a VRC team. Additional requirements include senior class status and a brief essay. The application deadline for this scholarship is January 25, 2016.

The Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI is offering three scholarships to students who have competed in the VEX® robotics competition and will graduate from high schools (or who were home schooled) in Indiana. There are one $4,000 scholarship for students with a minimum HS GPA of 3.5 and two $1,000 scholarships for students with a minimum HS GPA of 3.0 available. Each of these scholarships is renewable annually for up to four years. Students must pursue a degree in Engineering or Technology at IUPUI and be residents of the state of Indiana. Applicants are required to submit essay questions and a letter of recommendation from a team mentor.

Ahmad Shraibati was a civil engineer whose grand daughters took part in robotics during high school. They are now both engineers. His family wanted to help establish memorial scholarships that he would have been proud of and which would encourage other young women to pursue STEM careers.
The FUTURE Foundation is pleased offer five scholarships valued at $2,000 each. Two of these scholarships will be exclusively for girls who have been involved in the VEX Robotics Program.

Three scholarships valued at $1,500 each. There is no special form or application process for first-year students. Your MSU application information will be used to determine scholarship eligibility. Please be sure to include your participation in the VEX robotics program on your application. Scholarships are typically awarded during the first two weeks of April.

The “Steve Sanghi Scholarship Award” is for Arizona students who are participants in 2015/2016 VEX Robotics Qualified Competitions. Arizona students participating in any Qualified VEX tournaments are encouraged to apply for this $1,000 per academic year scholarship ($500 per semester) – which may be renewable for up to four years. One scholarship will be given out at the Arizona VEX State Championship.
