On behalf of the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation, welcome to the 2021-2022 VEX IQ Challenge Pitching In season, presented by Northrop Grumman Foundation. After persevering through last season’s challenges, we are very excited to offer our robotics community a fun and action-packed season!
The REC Foundation’s mission is to increase student interest and involvement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by engaging students in hands-on, affordable, and sustainable robotics engineering programs. Through remote and in-person activities, students increase their innovative thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, enhancing their academic journey to build a talented workforce in various STEM-related professions.
Our well-known competition experience attracts hundreds of thousands of students from across the globe united in their passion for robotics and STEM. Some of the world's technology-advanced companies are eager to hire the next generation of innovators from the REC Foundation. It’s our goal to leverage competitive robotics to see students increase technical abilities while learning workforce skills and having fun with their team.
The REC Foundation is dedicated to providing the guidance and resources to ensure that the season and competitions run smoothly so that all participants, coaches, and volunteers have a rewarding experience. We encourage you to explore resources here in the Digital Welcome Kit including VEX IQ Challenge Pitching In information, VEX IQ STEM Labs (with free curriculum), VEX IQ Educator Certifications, free software downloads, and much more.
We wish you an enjoyable and challenging robotics season. I look forward to seeing you soon at an upcoming event!
The VEX IQ Challenge, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, provides elementary and middle school students with exciting, open-ended robotics challenges that enhance their science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills through hands-on, student-centered learning.
The VEX IQ Challenge fosters student development of the teamwork, critical thinking, project management, and communication skills required to prepare them to become the next generation of innovators and problem solvers.
By its nature, the study of competitive robotics not only encompasses all four pillars of STEM education, but also encourages important life skills like teamwork, communication, and project-based organization. The Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation exists to bring this exciting experience to students all over the globe through the VEX IQ Challenge, VEX Robotics Competition, and VEX U.
The REC Foundation's Online Challenges program provides a unique opportunity for students from around the world to participate in VEX Robotics Competition, VEX U, and VEX IQ Challenge-based engineering competitions. Students can show off their work, win prizes, and even win a chance to compete at VEX Worlds. The REC Foundation organizes Online Challenges in subjects such as web design, CAD design, photography and video production.
