The Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation seeks to increase student interest and involvement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by engaging students in hands-on, sustainable and affordable curriculum-based robotics engineering programs.

By partnering with universities and colleges to offer a scholarship program, the REC Foundation hopes to encourage students in our programs to continue their education and pursue careers in STEM.

The "Steve Sanghi Scholarship Award" is for Arizona students who are participants in VEX Robotics Qualified Competitions. The Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Denver offers multiple scholarships to admitted students totaling $250,000. Scholarships range in value and are based on either financial need or academic merit. Applicants must be enrolled in an engineering or computer science field to qualify. University of Hawaii at Manoa

The University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Engineering is pleased to provide students with multiple scholarship opportunities that are valued at more than $300,000. Scholarships range in value and are based on both financial need and academic merit. To qualify applicants must be accepted to the College of Engineering. 

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI)

As part of the partnership between the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation and the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), WPI has established scholarships for VEX Robotics participants. Each year WPI will award a grand prize scholarship of $80,000 ($20,000 per year, for four years) and two runner-up scholarships of $10,000 ($2,500 per year, for four years).
