HR Generalist


The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) executes human resource support activities under the direction of the CEO.  The HRG will manage recruitment efforts, administer employee health plans, and act as liaison between team members and insurance providers. The HRG resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans. This role manages HR administrative tasks, including record-keeping, payroll, file maintenance and data entry. Additionally, the HRG will work to resolve employee concerns and address requests to maintain positive employee relations. The HRG will be responsible to make sure RECF complies with all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.  The HRG must maintain and secure all confidential information and sensitive files and act in the best interest of the company.

Essential Functions: 

  • Serve as HR point of contact for REC Foundation employees, contractors and outside service representatives.
  • Manage recruitment effort for all full- and part-time positions.
  • Work with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and interview materials.
  • Screen candidates and participate in interviews as needed
  • Assist management team in targeted outreach and communicate with rejected candidates.
  • Completes E-Verify process for new hires.
  • Initiate background checks and drug screenings for employees.
  • Initiate background checks for volunteers.
  • Process participant accommodation requests.
  • Support management team with onboarding and offboarding.
  • Organize and prepare materials for new hires.
  • Process employee terminations
  • Administer payroll and support RECF employees to answer payroll questions and to resolve any issues.
  • Manage time tracking system and report bi-weekly payroll to Accounting as well as worked hours against grants to Development
  • Manage employee benefits package, support team members and manage vendor relationships.
  • Ensure timely team member enrollment and termination, including proper documentation.
  • Review and reconcile benefit invoices for payment; ensure accurate deductions
  • Support benefit claims resolution
  • Lead efforts to support team member engagement and recognition activities.
  • Support the development and execution of quarterly all-staff engagement activities
  • Ensure proper recognition of employment anniversaries, life events and other activities
  • Propose, maintain, distribute, and enforce organizational policies and procedures. Assist in implementation of personnel policies and procedures; propose, maintain, distribute, communicate, and enforce changes to Employee Handbook.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate annual review process
  • Assist with annual compensation review process
  • Support managers with disciplinary meetings, investigations and terminations
  • Support employees and managers with leave of absence requests (short-term disability, long-term disability, bereavement, personal) and workers compensation requests and disputes
  • Manage emergency preparedness updates and enforcement.
  • Assist with strategic direction on workforce planning
  • Identify and implement company-wide compliance trainings.
  • Attend yearly VEX Robotics World Championship

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel (HR) administration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, payroll, and project management software.
  • Fluent in English; proficient reading and writing skills
  • Experience with benefits and employment laws and regulations
